I was delighted to support the online Coeliac UK Volunteers’ Conference last week. This year’s event was online, and it reminded me how much I enjoy seeing the Coeliac UK community, and the difference that every one of these volunteers makes in their local groups.

I love working with Coeliac UK. I’m really proud of the work we do together. As a gluten-free chef, working on projects with Coeliac UK stretches me, challenges me, and provides me with inspiration to innovate and stay on top of my game.

When I see the work the volunteers do, week in week out, I am inspired to go further, try harder, and do more, as we go about the process of creating new and delicious gluten-free recipes for Coeliac UK members.

If I could only give one piece of advice to anyone recently diagnosed as Coeliac, it would be to join Coeliac UK and gain access to their vast resources, all designed to help you live the fullest possible life. If you can volunteer and help others, so much the better. More about volunteering here.

The online conference also reminded me how nice it will be when we can meet in person again, and I am looking forward to seeing old friends and new at the next conference. At the Gluten Free Food Show in 2019, my daughter Annabel helped out over the weekend, and enjoyed it so much that she made a short film of the event. It’s informal, and it captures the flavour of the weekend nicely.
