When Delicious By Design Met Kafoodle…

We first came across Kafoodle in 2018. As part of our work at Delicious By Design, we analyse recipes for lots of clients and for lots of reasons; fortification, increased nutrition, scaling quantities, changing portion sizes, reducing salt levels, and so on. We’d been using another system up to that point, and I used to avoid the data work because it was clunky and difficult to do. An old colleague suggested we look at Kafoodle, so we did.

Well, it was an absolute delight. After my first day using the platform, I did something I’ve never done before; I wrote to Kafoodle and said something like “I just had an amazing day. Thank you.”

Kafoodle transformed the way we approached food data work. It’s really easy for chefs and caterers to use. There is excellent training and support available, but you don’t really need it to get started. Recently, I asked Steve Love to look at it, and you can see his reaction here:

Kafoodle

Kafoodle is a tool that can be used across the business; stock control, personalised menu planning, menu cycles nutritionally analysed – there’s lots of ways it can help the caterer. It’s a simple monthly subscription to use the system and there is an app version available so you can use it from your phone or tablet.

For me the number one benefit is that it is so easy and pleasant to use. This means that everybody in the business who needs to use it should be able to change and update the system. For instance, if there is an ingredient switch at delivery then making an associated change to the data on Kafoodle, and printing a smart, new – and accurate – label, is easy.

Kafoodle and Delicious By Design

We’ve been fans of Kafoodle since we first encountered it. Now we are announcing a new partnership between Delicious By Design and Kafoodle to bring Kafoodle’s platform to the attention of more people in the industry, especially as we look to help our clients address the challenges of Natasha’s Law.

We will be working with Kafoodle this year on a campaign to support Hospitality Action. More on that here.
