Wondering what to do for a team event during lockdown? Why not add a session to your virtual team meeting where everyone cooks along together?

The whole event takes place online, with delegates cooking in their own kitchens, led and guided by our chefs, Louise and Steve, all enabled via Zoom.

We have been running virtual cookery classes since the start of the first lockdown in March 2020.  They have been fun, interactive and educational, and have usually involved up to ten delegates, this being the maximum number possible per session.

With many people still working from home, the feedback we’ve received from our #CookWithLou sessions is that they are an excellent way for businesses to maintain a strong team spirit and sense of belonging.

You can choose from three types of session:

  • Cook lunch, typically a session at 11am for an hour to prepare lunch
  • Cook dinner, typically around 4pm for an hour, to cook dinner
  • Afternoon baking, typically around 2.30pm, to bake seasonal treats
Cook Along Mince Pies at Christmas!

How Does It Work?

  1. Select which version of the session you would like, lunch, dinner or baking, and when you would like to do it.
  2. We will call you to discuss the session; which dishes you would like to cook, whether you’d like the session to be one team together or two teams in competition, whether you want to give your team an option, such as meat vs vegetarian etc. We are able to have one or two chefs on the session to support your team, depending.
  3. The week before the event, we will send out a shopping list and details of any equipment your team will need so they can prepare. Most of the equipment we use is found in a typical domestic kitchen, such as scales, jugs, pans, etc. We can also arrange for delivery of ingredients, if you need us to do so.
  4. If you wish, we will share contact details with your team, so that we can handle any pre-event questions the team may have.

Prices start at £500.00 for up to ten people on a session. We can customise the sessions to match your requirement.

What You Say

During lockdown Lou started #CookwithLou Zoom cookery lessons and because she works with Coeliac UK developing gluten-free recipes she has so much knowledge to share. I am coeliac and also struggle with dairy, so I find making things tasty for the gluten eaters in the house rather challenging. Thanks to Lou I’ve got more confident with adapting recipes and testing out some allergen-free dishes. Lou has taught me a few show stopper dishes which I have already been asked to make over and over again.

I enjoy the online CookWithLou sessions. The recipes, tips, and knife skills I have learned have given me confidence in the kitchen. I’m delighted my need for gluten-free was not a barrier; having seen features on Louise and all the work she does within the Coeliac community, I knew I was in great hands.

A great way to bring people together. We had a team of 10. I would recommend the team at Delicious by Design; we are looking forward to our next one.
