Natasha’s Law describes the new regulations around labelling of food which is pre-packed directly for sale (PPDS) in the UK. Any such food will now be required to have labelling which provides information on the full ingredients or the allergens contained. More details here.

When Does Natasha’s Law Come into Effect?

Natasha’s Law comes into effect on 1st October, 2021. This allows businesses to transition so that they are ready when the law comes into force. We’re already hard at work on how we can best help; who will be affected, how they will be affected, and what they need to do about it. We believe you need to be thinking about these changes now, and developing your plan. You’ll need time to implement and test before October 1st, which doesn’t leave much time if you also have to take account of staff holidays in July and August.

Questions on Natasha’s Law

Recently, Steve and I discussed some of the questions we’ve already been asked about Natasha’s Law, and we recorded the conversation. The conversation wasn’t set up as a broadcast take – we were rehearsing which areas we might discuss, so it’s like a “behind the scenes” view of how we develop our ideas. Consequently, the video quality isn’t high definition, so please bear with us. However, that has given us the opportunity to share this film with you and understand whether these are the questions to which you’d like answers. During the film, we discuss:

  • Who does this affect in the food industry? (Starts at 0’48”)
  • How might this affect us? (3’29”)
  • What are the challenges? (9’00”)
  • What are the options? (13’20”)
  • How we might help (18’00”)

A Favour

If you’ve watched the film, I have a favour to ask. I’d really love to know whether these are the sorts of questions that you want answered about Natasha’s Law.

We’ll be producing more on this as the summer unfolds, and we want to make it as relevant as possible to you. So, please have a look, get in touch via either the form on this website or via our social media channels, and let us know what you need to know about Natasha’s Law.
